What do you do when you feel a lack of motivation in your life? What do you do when you generally, overall, simply feel apathetic?

This has been my experience for most of this week. And the clients that I have seen are feeling the same way. They ask me, “Why? Why am I feeling this way? I love this time of year, and I’ve got a good handle on my shopping and… ~meh…” They can’t even finish the thought!

In the past I would be searching for answers to these questions too. In the past I would be saying things to myself like, “What’s wrong with you? Get up – get moving! You’ve got stuff to do so go do it!”

Those messages, however, never helped me. I’m sure they don’t help you either. Those messages are messages of resistance. And what does the Universal Law of Resistance say? “That which you resist, persists.”

So what are we to do? How do we *not* resist?
The opposite of resist is not what some people think. Many people would say the opposite is to embrace it. The trouble here is that it’s a quick step from there to wallowing, and that’s not what a thriving, self-loving person does.

The opposite of resist is: accept.

We must accept that for whatever reason at this moment in time, we are feeling out of synch with our expectations. We accept that we are feeling unmotivated. We accept that we are apathetic.

Once we say that, “I accept you, in this moment, exactly as you are,” a wave of relief washes over your weary soul. There is nothing wrong with where you are – your life is always on track. You accept you as you are, and the result is you feel loved.
From that place of unconditional self love (which is precisely what you are giving yourself when you say I accept you) you can ask the question, “What is the next step I can take right now to change how I’m feeling?”

Then follow your answer.

Love & Light,
